El claustro La Merced, de la Universidad de Cartagena, será escenario el próximo domingo de la inauguración de un monumento en homenaje al escritor colombiano
COLOMBIA, 17 de mayo 2016.- Un busto en bronce del desaparecido nobel Gabriel García Márquez, escultura hecha por la artista británica Katie Murray, así como las cenizas del hijo ilustre de Aracataca están en la capital de Bolívar desde hace pocos días, así lo confirmó el rector de la Universidad Cartagena, Édgar Parra Chacón.
El claustro La Merced, donde funciona la sede de posgrados de la Universidad de Cartagena, será escenario el próximo domingo de la inauguración de un monumento en homenaje al escritor colombiano, publica El Universal.
Pese a que la entrega de cenizas estaba programada para la primera semana de mayo, un hallazgo hizo cambiar los diseños del monumento y obligó a postergar la fecha. Se trata de un aljibe de tres siglos de existencia y de algunos vestigios arqueológicos, justo en el lugar donde van a reposar las cenizas del escritor.
